New in Development: BLACK CALIFORNIA GOLD
Super Bad Theater Company is thrilled to announce our latest project currently in development: Black California Gold, a powerful stage adaptation of the acclaimed book by Wendy M. Thompson.

This production is a deep dive into the lineage, legacy, and resilience of the Black experience in the Golden State. From the red dirt of the South to the sun-drenched dreams of California, Black California Gold is a poetic exploration of what it means to strike gold within one's own history.

The Journey to the Stage
We are currently in the vibrant development stage of this production, refining the script and preparing to bring Thompson’s evocative words to life. We believe in the power of this story and are excited to move this project toward a full theatrical run.

What’s Next?
Staged Reading: We will soon host an exclusive staged reading. This intimate first look will allow our supporters and theater community to experience the work-in-progress and witness the evolution of the script.

Auditions: We will be seeking a dynamic cast to embody these powerful stories. Official audition dates and casting calls will be announced shortly.
