Who We Are

Artistic Director & Founder

Dedrick Weathersby a Longview Texas native.  A Serial Entrepreneur and Investor in people. A 2022 Emmy Award Winner in the category of "Interview and Discussion" with Theatre Corner on PBS/KPBS; Broadway World Awards Winner for Remembering James - The Life and Music of James Brown, his Original Musical. As a child, his dream was to become a professional actor/singer, use his resources, notoriety and impact the world and his community and culture through advocacy, thought provoking storytelling and music.  Dedrick is a proud member of Actors Equity Union, a union for professional stage actors, Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA), a union for film and television and Dramatist Guild Union for Playwrights. Dedrick believes in "Being the Change You Want to See". Instead of waiting for a seat at The Table, Dedrick is creating the table and placing people within the seats. Mr. Weathersby is proud to have employed over 75+ Industry Professionals, Majority being BIPOC.

E.K. Bonner

Managing Consultant

E.K. BONNER, a native of Longview, TX has a great passion for the Arts! He is an actor, producer, director, and playwright! He has worked with and featured in his play productions various renowned actors such as Brian White, Pooch Hall, Darrin Henson, Countess Vaughn, The Late Tommy Ford and many more. EK also has a big heart for youth! His desire is to continue to mentor and motivate youth of today and encourage them to stay on the right path!! One way he effectively does this is by being the choreographer and director of his Christian dance & mime group called Dramatic Praise for over 20 years! This group of youth have travelled across the nation performing in places such as Dallas, New York, and Atlanta, GA. Currently, he teaches Theater Arts in Texas at a public middle school and he’s also an entrepreneur that has been running his Barber & Beauty Salon business for 20 years. He has been happily married to his wife Tina Bonner for 16 years and in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his teenage triplet boys! Morgan Becker

Production Stage Manager   

Artist / Media Team

Morgan Becker is a Cincinnati native and a Northern Kentucky University college graduate. Morgan has been involved in the arts for as long as she can remember. She’s worked on several productions at Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park including Two Trains Running and A Christmas Carol. A few other credits include The Hunchback of Notre Dame (The Carnegie), The 39 Steps (Commonwealth Theatre Company), the Bay Area Premiere of Life Sucks (Custom Made Theater Company), and Dreamgirls (The Carnegie). Morgan has worked with Cincinnati Ballet, and was also a production assistant for the film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile starring Zac Efron. Morgan is thankful to be able to create art, and to be working with other talented artists telling these fantastic and educational stories. God is good. William Griffin

Music Consultant

Will “Roc” Griffin is a keyboardist, music producer, music director, composer, actor, and screenplay writer.

 

One of Will’s first major accomplishments as a recording artist was keyboardist with Dr. Dre and the World Class Wrecking Cru on various recordings in the late 1980s.

 

Will later went on to produce and perform keyboards on the certified-gold recording from the 1993 movie, “Judgment Night” with Emilio Estevez and Cuba Gooding Jr., featuring various bands including Faith No More and Boo Yaa Tribe.

His next big project involved jazz piano legend, Herbie Hancock. Will co-produced Hancock’s album, “Dis Is Da Drum”, which was nominated for a Grammy in 1996. He also toured globally with Hancock as a keyboardist and programmer in support of the record.

Continuing his musical journey, Will produced and played keyboard with blues giant, John Lee Hooker Jr. Out of the three projects directed and produced by Will, for Hooker, two were nominated for Grammys in 2005 and 2006 respectively.

 

Since late 2018, Will has performed as an actor and music director for the dynamic, nationally touring theatrical production, “Remembering James”. The musical depicts the life and music of “The Godfather Of Soul”, James Brown. Will’s performance and musical production prompted Broadway World to include him in its 2019 awards. Will was nominated for “Person to Watch” and “Best Supporting Actor”. Will received his BA in music in September 2021.

Candace Green

Patron Services/FOH 

Candace Green is a native of Dallas Texas. A career stage and technical professional. Her notable industry position would be The Color Purple National Tour, Working as the Assistant Stage Manager. She has worked with DP Productions as Production Manager and Customer Relations Director.

With Gods favor, she has been blessed to work with

actors such as Brian White, Darrin Dewitt Henson and Pooch Hall and The late Tommy Ford. Theater has always been her passion as she hopes to inspire little brown and black girls to chase their dreams, while making technical theater appealing. Very Thankful to be apart of Super Bad Theater Company.

Jordan Burns

Choreographer

Jordan Burns originally from El Dorado, Arkansas graduate of Henderson State University, with a BA in Theatre arts. Now living in the Northwest Indiana/Chicago area. Choreographing & teaching kids of all ages in various Competitive Dance studios. Works include portraying the role of Scarecrow in The Wiz in New York City with NY Black Arts, as Beé The Reindeer in Forever Frozen Story International Tour, and dancer/choreographer for Club Med Resorts in Punta Cana Dominican Republic. His most recent acting roles are The Buddy Holly Story with Metropolis Performing Arts Center and as Lyle in The GreatWorks Touring Theatre adaptation of Lyle The Crocodile. Currently you can check out his latest dance work in directing/dancing the latest youtube video “Britney Dreams”.

Jen Coogan

Composer/Lyricist/Consultant

Jen Coogan is a composer/ lyricist/ writer who started out as a performer, but began writing musicals in her desire to create more roles for women. Her short musical The Morning After My Family Fell Apart, was produced by Left Coast Theatre Company in San Francisco. She is also writing and developing the musicals Pharma Girls, The Last Open Mic, and The Oregon Trail Pages, as well as creating The Women in Theatre Project- a song cycle, featuring personal interviews and stories from some of the most influential women in theatre. She has written music and lyrics for several animated features including Lizzie Wilding- Heavy Metal Werewolf, and Corozon. Jen and her husband are co-creators of Broadway for the Boardroom, writing industrial musicals for corporate events. Her music has been featured in Vents Mag, Prelude Press, Idobi Music, Cliché Mag, and New Music Inferno, among others. Her songs have been shared on social media by Lin Manuel Miranda, and Broadway producers Ken Davenport and Jennifer Ashley Tepper. She is a proud member of The Dramatists Guild, ASCAP, and Theatre Bay Area. Jen also serves on the Board of Musical Cafe/ Play Cafe in Berkeley, where she is the creator and co-host of Musical Cafe’s monthly Song Salon; a safe space for musical theatre writers to share their new work, and build community.

Chavalia Dunlap- Mwamba

Composer/Musical Director (Children's Theater)

Chavalia Dunlap-Mwamba is a Longview, Texas native and   attended Kilgore College, where she studied general music (with a primary focus on piano techniques and opera.) Upon completion of her two-year tenure, she transferred to the University of Texas at Arlington, earning a Bachelor’s degree in the Business of Music.

Chavalia is a certified EC-12 Music Educator with an emphasis on song composition and intermediate recording techniques. She has provided her musical expertise at the Frisco School of Music, Dallas ISD and Longview ISD public school systems (as well as churches) since 2006 and has served as organist for Abundant Life Ministries since 2017.

Chavalia has composed music for indie artists as well as stage plays and is the owner and founder of Keys to Music™️, where her focus is on helping children explore their musical creativity under her guidance and leadership.

Chavalia doesn’t just compose music, though; she is a self-taught perfumer and owner of Pink MahogHany™️ Fragrances. She bridges the gap between her musicality and olfactory senses and aims to share all of her creative gifts with those who resonate.

She is the proud mother of identical twin boys, Elikya and Ilya Mwamba, who share her passion for the creative arts.

Started Drake entertainment  management television studios in 1995, it all started when he was 10 years old, and his uncle Dr. Grady King in Miami Florida, took little Reggie on a visit to a television studio were his uncles closest friend  worked. The dream of owning his own, never left his 10 year old mind. Thank and Love you Uncle Grady.
